RECYCLING Need to remove construction waste or remodeling debris?
Waste Management has trash dumpsters available for any sized project,
commercial or private, short or long term. Just choose the best dumpster
container size to fit your needs and Waste Management will deliver it to you
and remove it when you’re done. It’s that simple. Go to:
www.dumpster.com
Please do not store and/or save up to six months or more of trash and/or
recyclables for delivery to the Recycling Center at any one time. When this
happens residents coming to the site at the end of the day find the bins
full. Your cooperation is needed to resolve this ongoing problem.
Large items such as carpeting, assorted cabinets, and box springs and
mattresses can only be accepted between April 1st through the end of
October. If you must rid your property of these items you must contact Waste
Management or MarOco for disposal.
We are having a problem with residents dropping off cans containing paint
and stain. We legally cannot accept these. You must empty the contents of
the can into crushed paper or cardboard and then let the soiled
paper/cardboard dry and the paint can itself dry. Once dry, both items can
be deposited into the trash at the Recycling Center, but not in a
liquid form.
ALL users will be required to provide proof of residency.
The Recycling Center now accepts: tires, appliances and air conditioners with Freon, stoves, microwaves, washers, dryers, any kind of metal including siding and soffits (no motor vehicles), televisions, automotive oil (no cooking oil or antifreeze), paper, cardboard, plastic, glass, aluminum, tin, batteries, bagged garbage and yard waste. State regulations prohibit us from accepting paint or other hazardous materials. Computers can be taken to Goodwill Industries on Roosevelt Road (County T) in Marinette.
Residents who wish to rid their property of unlicensed vehicles, but have no means of removing them from the site can call Dave Malke at 920-213-1681 for vehicle removal. Town residents using burn barrels to dispose of household garbage are reminded that only the materials that are allowed to be open burned, namely: leaves, plant clippings, paper and cardboard are to be burned. Plastics, asphalt, rubber and other man-made materials generate hazardous air pollutants and should not be burned in a burn barrel. Residents doing so may be fined by the WDNR. An annual Burning Permit is required for burn barrel use. The Town of Peshtigo has an ordinance regarding roadside dumping with a $100 reward after arrest and conviction. Should you see someone dumping along the roadside take their license number and call the Town Hall at 582-4332. Waste Management is a private contractor, that is contracted by residents of the Town of Peshtigo for waste pickup. Anyone seeing items blowing off of their trucks is to call Waste Management at 906-863-4502 with road name, time of day and truck number or license number. |
