NEW Fire/Rescue Boat and Equipment

After conducting several successful, but difficult water rescues last summer and fall, the Town of Peshtigo Fire Department has found that a larger and more stable rescue craft is needed to replace their existing ten-foot rigid inflatable boat. Thanks to several fund-raising raffles, donations and grants, the department is currently in the process of obtaining and outfitting a brand new 15 ft Mercury rigid inflatable boat with 40 hp motor, trailer and associated water rescue equipment. This water rescue project is anticipated to be completed by mid-August. Once completed, firefighters will train on the new boat then place it into service at that time. This entire project is being conducted at no cost to the taxpayers with both the boat and motor being generously donated by Mercury Marine. The trailer and all remaining items are being funded through an ATV raffle, gun raffle, other events and donations, plus two separate grants from the M & M Area Community Foundation and Zion Lutheran Church in Marinette.
